I’ve been writing software for a living since 2003. I have a master’s in computer science from Georgia Tech. Back in college in Brazil, I wrote code that ended up on screen in The Bourne Ultimatum. Today I’m the co-founder and CEO of Savings Club.
For over twenty years I’ve taken hard problems apart and rebuilt them as technology anyone can use.

Savings Club
Co-founder and CEO
It’s a club where members fund each other’s cars.
The club’s money is held in trust for its members at U.S. Bank, with Jackson Hole Trust as trustee. Savings Club runs the club.
You pay into the club every month.
Once a month, the club’s ranking decides which members are next to use the fund. When a voucher buys a vehicle, the trust pays the licensed dealer directly.
When you use your voucher, it becomes a loan, and Savings Club is the lender. You repay it. One flat fee, set in your contract. Nothing compounds on your balance.

Zenmap
In 2005 I was in college in Goiás, Brazil, when Google picked me for its first Summer of Code.
My project was Umit, a new graphical interface for the network scanner Nmap. Umit grew into Zenmap, the official Nmap GUI, and today it ships in every major Linux distribution. You can even spot it in The Bourne Ultimatum, behind several terminal windows.
I came back as a student in 2006 and mentored from 2007 to 2012. In 2007 one of my students, João Paulo de Souza Medeiros, built RadialNet to draw network maps for Umit. Zenmap adapted it for its topology view. The drawing here imitates that view.

Patents, research, education
I have two US patents, both granted in 2025 and both in my own name. Three more applications are pending, covering the coordination system behind Savings Club. The granted two let software adapt to each request by checking it against rules in its configuration. That way nobody has to reconfigure it by hand. The first one covers DNS, the system that turns a name like a.dria.no into an address. The second takes the method beyond DNS.

The Car-Buying Revolution
Published in June 2023
I wrote this book to help you plan your next car. It walks you through buying and financing a car the right way in America. You’ll learn how to choose new or used, read every fee on a contract, size up a trade-in and line up financing before you shop.
It gives you what I learned from dealers, bankers, regulators and attorneys while building Savings Club. I’ve owned cars in Brazil, Belgium and the United States, and the book draws on all three.
